By car or motorcycle ?

The arrival is by a very bad uncovered road. It is not possible to arrive by private car or small motorcycle. The arrival can only be done in a high car (pickup truck or 4*4) or with a good motorcycle. It is necessary to know how to drive on the trail with skill.

You also have the option to park your vehicle near the hotel next to the police station La Española. The cost is 15.000COP for the whole stay. Then you can come walking (30min) or with a private Willys jeep (40.000COP for the whole willys). Contact the front desk to reserve a parking space.

Car or Motorcycle

From Quimbaya

Economical option

Take a collective Willys jeep leaving from the station park in the direction of "Partidas" or "Cauchera Finlandia" (every 45 min). First Willy : 6am / Last Willys : 5.45pm. Price : 3.500 pesos per person. Tell the driver that you want to go down to ?Tukao? and walk 20 minutes.

Private option

(Mandatory with large suitcases or by night ) Take a private Willys jeep that will pick you up in Quimbaya and take you directly to the hotel. Price : 50.000 pesos for the whole jeep (the price goes up after 7pm) and is paid in cash directly to the driver. Contact the reception to book it.

From Filandia

Economical option

Take the collective Willys jeep that goes to Cauchera Quimbaya (every 1h30). It leaves from the park of Leo's bakery. First Willy : 7.30am / Last Willys : 4.30pm. Price : 4.500 pesos per person. Tell the driver that you want to go down to "Tukao" and walk 20 minutes.

Recommended option

Take the shuttle service organized by Tukawa at 1pm or 5pm. The jeep picks you up in front of Leo's bakery one block from the main park. Reservation required at the reception desk. Price : 15.000 pesos per person, paid in cash at the hotel.

Mandatory after 5pm. Take a private Willys jeep that will pick you up in Filandia and take you directly to the hotel. Price : 70.000 pesos for the whole jeep (the price goes up after 7pm) and is paid in cash directly to the driver. Contact the reception to book it.

From Salento

Economical option

Take a collective Willys jeep to Filandia (every hour from 8am). Price: 8,000 pesos. We recommend that you reserve your seats in advance as they fill up very quickly. Then see section From Filandia

Private option

Take a private transport from Salento. The price varies between 160,000 and 190,000 COP depending on the time and number of people, has to be paid to the conductor. Reservation with the reception is mandatory.

From Armenia (airport or bus terminal)

Economical option

Go to the bus terminal in Armenia and take a bus to Quimbaya. It takes one hour and costs 5.000 pesos. Then see the section From Quimbaya.

Private option

Take a private transport to go directly to Tukawa from the airport or the terminal. The price varies between 140,000 and 180,000 COP depending on the time and number of people, to be paid to the driver. Reservation with the reception is mandatory.

Economical option

Go to the bus terminal in Pereira and take a bus to Filandia. Then see the section From Filandia.

Private option

Take a private transport to go directly to Tukawa from the airport or the terminal. The price varies between 210,000 and 240,000 COP depending on the time and number of people, to be paid to the driver. Reservation with the reception is mandatory.

From Bogotá / Ibagué

Stage 1

Take a flight to Armenia (flights to Pereira are usually cheaper but farther away) or a bus (preferably at night). If you take the bus, you have to go to the Salitre terminal and leave around 11pm to arrive in Armenia between 6 am and 11am. We recommend the company Bolivariano (60.000 COP to 80.000 COP). Sometimes there are no tickets on the internet but there are direct tickets at the terminal. Be careful, if you go by bus during the day or in high season, the trip can be longer. Do not trust what the bus company or Google Maps or Waze says.

Stage 2

From Medellin

Stage 1

Take a flight to Armenia/Pereira or an overnight bus to Armenia. If you take the bus, you have to go to the south terminal of Medellin and leave around 11 pm to arrive in Armenia between 6 am and 11 am. We recommend the company Flota Occidental (60.000 COP to 80.000 COP). Sometimes there are no tickets on the internet but there are direct tickets at the terminal. Be careful, by bus if you go during the day or in high season, the trip can be longer. Do not rely on what the bus company or Google Maps or Waze says.

From Cali

Stage 1

Go to Armenia by bus (3-4h). Price between 30,000 and 40,000COP.

Stage 2

From Jardín

Stage 1

Take a chiva (not very comfortable local bus) to go to Riosucio. You have to leave in the morning at 8 am at the latest. About 4 hours of travel.

Stage 2

Take a bus between Riosucio and Pereira. About 4 hours by bus.

Stage 3

Be careful ! It is a 10 to 12 hour trip if you don't lose too much time between each bus. It is better to leave very early from Jardin.
